SKY - Ability to select 100 records at a time for batch emails

Batch emails only allow you to email100 records at a time. In Classic, you could adjust the number of records showing on a page to 100, and then select that page's records, do a batch email, and then do the same on subsequent pages. Now, because there are no pages, just a long list, you either have to hand select the records 100 at a time, or deselect records after selecting all, both of which are tedious and time consuming. It pretty much defeats the purpose of batch editing.

Hooray! Yes I noticed this recently and have already used the feature for emails. Thank you!

This has been updated in SKY view to reflect the feedback above. Search result pages now show 100 records at a time, and it is possible to select 100 records at a time using "select all" as a result. (You can also still easily select up to 500 by clicking "select all" on multiple pages of results). Thank you all for your patience and for correcting my earlier comments!

Hi There, although you can batch update the first 500 records, you cannot then select the next 500 records without doing so individually. This is not very helpful and where Classic sky had the pages of 100 records that would be less time consuming to use when updating a batch of 7000 records which i had to do recently. Can you please add the ability to select pages of 500 records?

Do we have any updates on this please? It causes significant difficulties to only be able to select all or none. This is because you can only batch email to up to 100 records, so would need to select 100 (or fewer) in a block.

Classic (and indeed Excel) enable you to tick one record, then Shift and tick another record and all the records in between are also selected. Currently, we have to individually tick up to 100 records to email (if there is a large batch to email) and then individually tick the next 100 etc...

I have edited this, because as Violet says, this still is a problem for batch emails, which are capped at 100, requiring you to hand-select 100 at a time, or deselect anything over 100.

To Vin's comment - you can only email 100 people at a time, but have no option to choose only 100 records. If 'Select All' gives you more than 100, it picks the first 500. So you can either choose 500 (via Select All) or none - there is no way to select 100 which is the max for emailing. So there is still a need for Select 100.

Blackbaud Grantmaking SKY View now supports updating batches of up to 500 records at once. This will work regardless of how many records are currently visible on the search results page - you can confirm this by performing a search which returns many records, and clicking "Select all". If the number of records matching the search is greater than 500, a warning will be displayed that the action will only be performed on the first 500 records in the list.

Our research shows that most of the time, batch updates are for well under 500 records, but if you do find yourself in a situation where you need to update even more records than that, here is an easy solution: Perform a search that will help find the records that need to be updated, but will stop displaying those records after they're updated. For example: search for Pending requests when you plan on Approving the requests. Then, click "Select all" to select the first 500 records to be updated. After approving those 500 requests, they will disappear from the search results, and you can click "Select all" to select the next 500.

We will also note here that the behavior in Classic View was very similar, but the record limit was actually higher - 1,000 records, instead of 500. What we found was that it was not very common to batch update that many records at once, and that breaking up those batch updates into a few smaller ones provided significant performance improvements - so overall we hope this minor change will make a better experience for when you do find yourself updating a ton of records.

Thank you for sharing this idea, and please let us know if you have any more feedback!
