Time-based password reset

Submitted by: Di Raucci

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Client would like a 20 min reset on GO passwords instead of having to call Tech Support to reset their password.

CURRENT FUNCTIONALITY: Currently if a client has surpassed the 3 times of 'incorrect password' and they are locked out of their account they have to call support to re-activate their account and reset their password.

REASON FOR NEW FUNCTIONALITY: Client and many other users work on the weekend - they have to wait until Monday for anyone to re-activate their account and reset the password - the is a loss of 2 days work in some cases. They would like to have it where they might get a message that states the account is locked for 20 min and to please try again - "Forgot Password" functionality will kick back in and they can get their password and continue working. ".... Another thing your team can add under the "reason" side of it, is time/money saved on the tech support side, that way people won't have to call in to you guys as much, you'd have more time to deal with more important things like program functionality."

A change to address this issue was released with our Q1 2017 release of GIFTS Online.

Today, if a user attempts to log in to their account too many consecutive times with an incorrect password, they will be 'locked out' of their account. However, unlike before, anyone who is locked out of their account can now click "Forgot password?" and will receive the automatic email to help them reset their password.

There is no countdown timer, so the user will not get stuck needing to call into our support team to reset their password - they only need to click "Forgot password?" and follow the steps in the email they receive. They can do this immediately without needing to wait 20 minutes.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this idea with your feedback!
