Creating the annual budget is a very tricky combination of art and science. If I make one mistake when creating my budget hierarchy, I have no way to correct it. And I never get it right the first time. Consequently I end up with categories and reserve funds that I neither want nor need. I created them by mistake, and now I am stuck with them. Or, and this is a shocker, something changes mid-year! And I need to make just a minor change to the structure. Can't do it. Please give me back the ability to delete a category or reserve fund that has no "children."
I've experienced this issue as well and was very disappointed to find out that I had to submit a request to the GIFTS Online Help Desk to delete a category from my own budget. I also vote to have the option to delete categories in the budget for reserve funds or otherwise. This is time consuming for both the Help Desk representative as well as the "user" who has to contact the Help Desk, wait on hold, submit an official request, then wait for the category to be removed.
