Currently if you have your IGAM setting to update filed with Add New text to existing text the resubmission re-adds the existing and the new text so it doubles the text (this goes for any text fields that are set to this option) **REASON FOR NEW FUNCTIONALITY: Client creates write ups with the Project Title merge field and the text is doubled and she has to delete the extra text. |
Thank you for submitting this idea! We have two solutions for this problem: one that is currently available, and one that we'll introduce in the future.
1. Current solution: Customers can contact our support team for help with this issue. Our team is able to make several configuration changes to the way long-text fields like "Project title", "Project description", "Evaluation notes", and the Organization "Background" field work. For each of these fields, we can help you configure your site so that when Considering an online application, the new value from the application is added to the existing value, replaces the existing value, or is ignored. The default for most customers' sites is to add the new value to the existing value.
2. Future solution: In the new Application Inbox, a replacement for the Pending Applications screen that is being built using SKY UX, the default behavior for the Project title field will be to always replace the old text with the new text, when considering second-stage applications and resubmitted applications. We've found that this covers the vast majority of uses for this field and is the best way to make this feature easier for the most customers.
