Online Applications - Attachments Design Flaw

If you do not specify 'allowed file types' in either the attachment field or attachments page then it's possible for an applicant to click on the 'Upload' button before clicking on the 'Browse' button. This attaches an empty file with no file extension, and if the applicant isn't paying attention, may lead them to think that they have already uploaded the attachment.

Therefore a fix needs to be released which hides or disables the 'Upload' button until the 'Browse' button has been clicked and a file path exists in the file name field.

It seems like this Idea was not closed properly at the time, so for the sake of record-keeping, I just wanted to note here that this bug was resolved in a release in May 2018.

    Hi

Do you know when this issue is going to be resolved – we have a rolling number of large amounts of attachments that are being sent in but are wrong.

It is creating a lot of issues for us.

    Kind Regards

Hi - do you know when this issue is going to get fixed - this is an error that is occurring with current applications we are receiving from applicants and also from all of our due diligence requirements potentially - we had quite a few over November and December and are about to send out offer letters again and are concerned that the same thing will occur again, we have quite a few we need to start sending out at the end of January (over 1521)

    Hi Greg -

Thank you for reporting this. We are tracking this as a bug, connected to Clarify Case ID 13959770, which you should have access to through your helpdesk ticket. I'm going to close this Idea since we're treating this more as a bug and less as a new feature request, and that way put all of the information in one place.

I totally agree that this fix would resolve a lot of issues that we are currently experiencing in regards to this - which takes up a lot of our time to resolve
