Dashboards, Searches and Views are powerful tools for creating workflows for comprehensive grant management.
Using these tools, task oriented Dashboards can facilitate efficient management of Grants, Requirements and Payments, guiding workers towards priorities and next steps.
Frequently we require users to access just a subset of the data in order to complete a specific task. Some enhancements to Dashboards, Views and Blueprints could facilitate an even more focussed view of data.
Blueprint Forms:
Enable multiple forms to be accessible to users, with a default form for each Request Type.
Implement Requirement Type-specific Blueprint forms (as per Requests and Reviews)
From within the record (Request etc) enable the user to swap between the Blueprint Forms allocated to them for that Request/Requirement type.
Views:
Link Request Types and Blueprint Forms to Views. Opening a record from the View would use the Blueprint form specified in that View.
Dashboards:
Link Views to Chart type Dashboards, just as they are for Table type Dashboards. Column drill-down would open the records in the workspace using the specified view.
Add ability to create pop-up help text in Dashboards. This can be used to describe what the Dashboard is showing, steps in the task to be completed for records in that Dashboard etc
Why this feature/tool was ditched is beyond me.
Alta Workflows was one of the primary reasons we went with BG, and we desperately need them back, and if they aren't coming back, I agree these suggestions would at least help.
I complete agree, as a grant manager the recommendations in this post would be a gamechanger - the functionality of having views and dashboard parts focused on a particular task was a huge benefit of Alta, the suggestions here - particularly requirement specific blueprint forms- would be a huge improvement.
I wish for all of these proposed enhancements! Given that Alta Workflows appear to be a thing of the past, instead of being the future, these proposed enhancements would go a long way to improving functionality and give users the capacity to see exactly what they need to at the various stages of the application and grant making process.
