The long notes field can be ridiculously long depending on the email and if there are images with links to a webpage in the email, that makes it even worse because it carries over the link and not the image (see screen shot). I can resize the columns, but shouldn't have to do that every time I go to Documents just to find something. I typically end up going to the Related records so I can change my view (see screen shot) without the long notes fields but we should be able to easily see documents in any view. Scrolling through the documents, especially while in a request record, takes forever and looks messy.
The other thing is if there are attachments in the email, you have to open the .msg file unless you drag and drop all of them separately into the record which also adds more documents to scroll through. We sometimes add the documents separately but not when there are more than 2-3.
If this functionality isn't able to be changed, one suggestion is to allow us to customize the views of related records while in the Request record so we can remove that field.
Thank you for this! We were wondering - is this feedback specifically intended to solve a problem where email message text is too long when appearing in a column in a view or list? (If so, would you be interested in other ways we might solve that by adjusting the list view?)
Or is there another reason you would prefer having a .msg file, and can you tell us about how you use those files? (We have found, so far, that attaching the .msg file in Grantmaking provides limited utility, since you typically need to download it and open it in Outlook again in order to see its contents, but I'm curious if we're missing something).
Agreed... we have switched on the send from outlook to do this... but i still see a lot of text showing in the long field box when we look at related documents attached to a record.... it makes it hard to scroll down and search the screen with such a large amount of information showing in that one field. it would be good to tidy this up
