Ability to batch update Custom Fields, not just Codes

I would like to retroactively add a new field to old request records, but can only batch update these fields if I create a new code. Custom fields cannot be batch updated, but would impact my work significantly by not requiring individual updates one by one.

    This would be great to have! We just created a new custom field and have 400 records that need to be updated. It is too cumbersome to open that many records individually, especially because you can't select a group of records and scroll through them like you could with Classic.
