Currently contact field names don't show up as required on the application when viewed by applicants until one of the fields (such as first name) is completed. Once that field is completed, any other fields marked required will show the red asterisk indicating it is required. I recommend that any field you mark as required should show up as required on the application and should be indicated as required by the red asterisk.
This functionality is now available with latest updates to the Applicant and Grantee Portal.
