The Notes in Activities are allowing you to type and save more than the character limit, and it does not warn you this is the case. When you type more than the character limit (I assume it is 255 characters as it is elsewhere) and then save and close and then open again, you the text that exceeded the character limit is lost.
The character counter at the top right corner isn’t visible and the field does not go red when you exceed the character limit. It then allows you to save and close (but discarding characters exceeding the limit), whereas elsewhere within the system an error message appears saying ‘Notes can not exceed 255 characters’ and forces you to be within this limit before you can save.
