Collecting ethnicity, gender, and age data is easy, but using the data for analysis is not. Grant applicants should have an easy way to submit this data and foundation staff should have an easier time, especially when exporting to Excel, analyzing the data. Currently, a large amount of extra work is required to split all the numeric data points into separate columns for charts and further analysis.
Client says: Must split the data into two columns, rearrange the data so "like" items are together, which is very time consuming, then change percent to decimal, then add additional columns for each and use the total number served and the decimal column to get a new total for # of each item served.
Alternately, adding large amounts of custom fields for each value creates many additional custom fields only used for this type of collection.
