The issue is that the code and description are showing to the applicant, as well as all levels are showing. For example in our Geographical Area Code table we have continents as the top level, then countries at the second level. I'd like the applicants to only see the Description text of the second level options. Not first levels as well, and not Codes, just descriptions.

For example, currently they will see something like this:
Europe\[LMIC] Hungary

We want them to see this: Hungary

We have this issue as well. Hopefully this can be worked on in the near future. This would be very helpful.

Thank you for your response Brenda however, the issue is not in relation to unselecting options for the dropdown list.

The issue is that each option that we do want to display within the dropdown list, is also displaying our internal code associated with that option. We want to display the option, but not the internal code that is associated with it.

There is an option to remove the codes within the classification section however, I would be grateful to know if there would a way to remove the codes from the application form without having to remove them from the classifications section (in case the codes are used elsewhere in the system).

For fields not in contact tables, you can edit the field on the form, choose the Data tab and unselect the options you do not want to display.
