We just found out. through the Help Desk. that the title field does not update (if there is already a title in GIFTS) when you bring an application into GIFTS Online. Apparently, it will update if the field was previously blank in GIFTS but not if there already was a title in that field. Jennifer Getty suggested that I put this in the ideas section here in the Community. I'm surprised that this isn't a function since it is probably important to GIFTS users who send out correspondence and for other internal purposes.
I was surprised this was even an issue in GIFTS Online after our migration from Alta! It is cumbersome for us to have to review each request and organization one by one when applications come in to work around to this issue to ensure we have the correct titles for each primary contact. We have a small staff who all have a lot of responsibilities within our roles. To add something else to our review process will not be sustainable for us long-term. It would be great if this were something that could be addressed in a future update.
Agreed, please find a way to more accurately and efficiently update the affiliation information for contacts in IGAM. Job titles change all the time. This is an unreasonable expectation for us to have to manually check every job title.
If a contact's title does not update, we must manually go through and double check every person who comes in through an online application. Does everyone with GO go through this process? Seems hard to believe. Please help!
