Change how the "application status" is listed for applicants in the new portal

In the new portal, the "application status" that applicants see is really more like the "program status." Even when a request is approved, the status will stay as "In Progress" until all requirements - even reports that may not be due for many months or a year later - are complete. In addition, if requests are declined, and therefore then not assigned requirements that are part of the program, that status will always stay as "In Progress." This wording is going to be INCREDIBLY confusing for applicants. If the status can not be updated based on REQUEST approval/decline, or managed manually, then it should just be turned off instead to avoid this confusion.

    This has been a huge issue for us as will. "In Progress" as the status for applications that have been approved and paid is very confusing. We are consistently having applicants reach out for clarification which is creating a lot of additional work for us. Especially with there being no way to "hide" the status, there seems to be no solution available.

    I agree with this as well! This wording is VERY confusing for applicants. If the status cannot be updated based on request approval/decline, or managed manually, then it should just be turned off instead to avoid this confusion. I've already had applicants asking about their status and I have declined their application.
