In the new portal, the "application status" that applicants see is really more like the "program status." Even when a request is approved, the status will stay as "In Progress" until all requirements - even reports that may not be due for many months or a year later - are complete. In addition, if requests are declined, and therefore then not assigned requirements that are part of the program, that status will always stay as "In Progress." This wording is going to be INCREDIBLY confusing for applicants. If the status can not be updated based on REQUEST approval/decline, or managed manually, then it should just be turned off instead to avoid this confusion.
This is SO confusing for grantees. I feel this is an easy fix and would alleviate a ton of stress on our grantees end.
I agree 100%! The "In Progress" status once an application has been approved/declined is VERY confusing and I can see additional "unnecessary" work on our behalf responding to applicant inquiries about this status. PLEASE change this to reflect the actual status of an application!!!!
As Val said, it's super confusing for applicants to be able to sort/filter by status when they can't actually filter for two of the most relevant statuses: approved or declined.
Also agree that this is a huge issue for applicants. Specially since applicants can "filter" using the status "draft, approved, declined, on hold" using the filter on the top right but they will never have approved or declined options.
This has been a huge issue for us as will. "In Progress" as the status for applications that have been approved and paid is very confusing. We are consistently having applicants reach out for clarification which is creating a lot of additional work for us. Especially with there being no way to "hide" the status, there seems to be no solution available.
I agree with this as well! This wording is VERY confusing for applicants. If the status cannot be updated based on request approval/decline, or managed manually, then it should just be turned off instead to avoid this confusion. I've already had applicants asking about their status and I have declined their application.
